First Erasmus trip, Corella!!

by | May 14, 2023

The Erasmus project “Generations pedaling for inclusion and climate action”, coordinated by the IES Alhama and Biciclistas of Corella, was approved in October 2022 and this week, from October 18 to 23, they will have the first international meeting in Corella. Four secondary schools from Azambuja (Portugal), Waterford (Ireland), Wodzislaw Slaski (Poland) and IES Tierra Estella plus Cyclist.ie, Ireland’s platform bike-promotion associations, will visit Corella and other places in the Ebro Valley.

25 international students will stay with their IES Alhama local peers. Their 15 teachers, plus the teachers and volunteers of Biciclistas de Corella, will accompany them, forming a group of about 60-70 people. They will enjoy a complete program of activities related to the objectives of the project: sustainable mobility, social inclusion, intergenerational relationships and climate action:

-Friday, May 19: presentations, coordination meetings, guided tour of Corella, town hall, scavenger hunts, CWA rides and welcoming dinner.

-Saturday, May 20: visit to Zaragoza (Aljafería, bike tour of the city, El Pilar…).

-Sunday, May 21: cycling outing along RUSCA route to Alfaro and afternoon with families.

-Monday, May 22: visit to green gardens of Corella, Villa María, charcoal workshop, visit to ADISCO and farewell dinner.

The next meetings of the project will take place in Waterford, Ireland on June 21-27 and in Azambuja, Portugal, in October 2023.

First Erasmus trip, Corella!!

14 new kilometers of RUSCA, the «Healthy and Cultural Alhama Route»

We have inaugurated 14 new kilometers of the RUSCA, the «Healthy and Cultural Alhama Route». This trail, that connected Corella with Cintruenigo and Fitero already, reaches the border with La Rioja with this new 14-km stretch and, hopefully, will get to Alfaro and the Sotos del Ebro in the near future.  Six Erasmus ambassadors and two majors (Alfaro’s a Cervera de Río Alhama’s) participated in the event and walked to Araciel (10 kms). Once in Corella, we gave «A whole life cycling» award to the Arellano sisters: Fabiola, Rocío and Lourdes
