From October 11th to 17th, 2023, we participated in a trip to Portugal as part of the Erasmus+ project Generations Cycling 4 Inclusion & Climate Action. We had high expectations, a great appetite for adventure, new culinary experiences, and the opportunity to explore the places and culture we had previously read about in available tourist guides.
For most of us, it was our first trip to this country, and the flight itself was already an incredible experience. Breathtaking views from above were just a preview of what we could admire on site. A multitude of attractions awaited us, from exploring numerous landmarks in Sintra, admiring the Portuguese coast from Cabo da Roca, to wandering through the narrow streets of Lisbon and riding the yellow trams around the city.
This packed program included Erasmus project activities, such as cycling around Lisbon or observing the local fauna and flora. These activities were an excellent opportunity to combine knowledge from different fields, apply it in practice, or refine previously acquired skills. Of course, there is no better opportunity to test your knowledge of the English language than using it in everyday communication, especially in the friendly atmosphere of friends from Ireland, Spain, and Portugal. The next meeting in Poland – we can’t wait!
