On December 21st we participated in the ConectaCorella Fair with Erasmus students and three grandchildren. It was a pleasure to have other entities as neighbours such as the San Miguel Youth Association, Cáritas, APYMA of the Colegio Ciudad de Corella, Adisco – Association of People with Disabilities of Corella, Association for Help to the Elderly, Residence, Social Services…

First thing in the morning, the kids helped to put up the tablecloths, photos, etc. and then helped with the chocolate and the bingo ticket sales. Meanwhile, Cristina, Nicolás and Ignacio took Maricruz, Luis and Boli for a walk around Corella. They took advantage of the opportunity to see the lights, the nativity scenes and have a coffee at the Gastrobar. As they weren’t satisfied, Luis suggested another coffee at the Deportivo.

The fair became more lively as the afternoon progressed. There was Christmas music from the Corella band and sopranos (what beautiful voices!). The chocolate and cake ran out but not the tickets. At 7:00 pm we did the draw in the old-fashioned way: taking the balls out of a bag (no drum or anything) and shouting out the numbers with a microphone that worked just fine. Antonio, a man from Logroño who visits us regularly, won the 50 euros from the bingo.
The Erasmus kids were very involved and entertained and the older people who were out for a walk also enjoyed the fair and the walk very much. Next year, more and better.
